We go here for sunsets, beautiful hike for stunning views of the city and Pacific Ocean
Erik and Irina's favorite bike route: cross the Golden Gate bridge and climb up Marin Headlands for stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and 360 views of the coast line. Check out our Strava for more photos! https://www.strava.com/activities/8482590906
This stretch of Golden Gate Park is lovely. We enjoy driving through this area on our way to Ocean Beach after grabbing some coffee and stopping by to checkout the bison, and exploring everything else Golden Gate Park has to offer. We always find something new.
To get some steps in, climb to the top of Coit Tower for an incredible views of SF bay. We remember sitting by the foot of the tower overlooking the ocean, and thinking about how much we wanted to move back to SF. For even more steps, climb to the top of the tower to see murals by Diego Rivera
Parking here will be tough, but, this is a hot spot for great food and drinks inside the building. Don't forget to try Blue Bottle Coffee inside the ferry building (Irina's first favorite coffee, Erik was way ahead of her). Around this area is a fantastic stroll through the marina. Go north for tourist attractions in Fisherman's Warf or South for sculptures and views of ferries and the Bay Bridge.
Fantastic place for both kids and adults! It's right on the bay, so you could walk anywhere along the water for lunch or dinner. Irina's lucky enough to have this place by her office to take strolls down to the entrance for a brake. There's interactive installations outside the entrance, including a large model of the Bucky Ball.
This is where the Golden Gate bridge meets land. Right by the foot of the bridge is a surf spot. This is the first spot Irina surfed in the city! We like to take walks here, and often ride by on our bikes across the bridge into Marin Headlands. There's a historic fort you can visit that is free. Take a walk north-west to go over the bridge and drop to the Pacific side, where you can hike down for more views of the bridge and the ocean. The views here at sunset are incredible.
Consider doing a free walking tour of SF - there are lots of events to choose from every day.
