Travel Note
Two options for lodging: hotel or vacation home rental (Air BnB). Location and personal preference will help you decide. If you'd like to stay in the main part of South Lake Tahoe with casinos, shopping, and restaurants nearby, you'll want to stay at a hotel in that area. However, this is about 12-13 miles away from our wedding venue. In July (busy summer month), it could take up to an hour to get to the venue from here. If you would like to stay closer to the wedding venue (which is in a residential area), it is better to rent a vacation home OR stay at PlayPark Lodge (only 10 minutes, 7 miles). I would highly recommend using Air BnB instead of VRBO. Air BnB has more flexible cancellation policies.
Flight
It is a 2 hour drive from the Sacramento airport to South Lake Tahoe. There may be more non-stop flights to Sacramento.
Flight
It is about a 1.5 hour drive from the Reno airport to South Lake Tahoe. There may be less non-stop flights to Reno. If you plan on staying in the main part of South Lake Tahoe (near casinos and state line), Reno is more appropriate than Sacramento.

We stayed at this super cute and newly renovated hotel when we visited the venue. The owners are extremely nice and hospitable. It is located only 10 minutes from the venue (unlike the other hotels which are further away in the main part of South Lake Tahoe).
