Etta's Version: Erik & I matched on the dating app Hinge. I think I swiped yes on him, initially, and then we matched. I really liked the photo he had posted of himself with his eyes closed enjoying a slice of pizza. It showed that he didn't take himself too seriously and, that he liked pizza (very important). We arranged to meet for a date at Savoy in West Hartford (yes, a pizza place) a few days later. I sat at a table outside and watched the person who I had suspected was him, receive my text telling him I had arrived. He was sitting on a bench nearby. He walked over, we hugged hello & he immediately asked if it was ok for him to pick from the menu on my behalf and order dinner for us both. I, having reached decision fatigue from work, was thrilled with his style and agreed. He ordered most of the menu (which I now know is deeply true to form) and we didn't stop talking or laughing the whole time -- something that happily, has also remained true to form. I was charmed by his humor, energetic nature, positivity, confidence and HANDSOME FACE. I couldn't wait for our second date, and now I can't wait for the rest of our lives together! Erik's Version: When Etta and I initially matched on Hinge her user name on the app was "Bunyip". I thought it was a cute nickname her mother had given her or something. Go look it up on Google -- IT'S NOT! Haha... I was immediately intrigued by all of her photos showing her in the outdoors and being adventurous. After we chatted for a few days, we jumped at the opportunity to meet up. I picked one of my favorite restaurants in West Hartford. When I showed up I saw this pretty lady sitting immediately in front of the entrance, but she was wearing big sunglasses. I first wanted to make sure it was her, by texting, so I didn't accidentally sit down with someone not expecting me. I was very happy to find out it was her! I also wanted to impress her with my taste for good food and asked her if she would like me to order for us. As you all can imagine I was spot on with everything. We talked and laughed and I told her about my house that I wanted to fill up with children (yes, on the first date). As everyone knows, I can be very open about my feelings immediately. I loved our entire interaction with each other, and I think before we were even half way through the date we had already planned the next. When I got home that night I immediately put the date that I met my lady in my calendar: Tuesday, May 10, 2022!!!
