Our favorite coffee shop downtown (one minute walk from the venue)
Airlie is beautiful this time of year, and is the site of many movies/shows including "Dawson's Creek," "One Tree Hill," and "Sleepy Hollow". Admission is $10 per person
If you are looking for a fun activity to do while in town, we love this island hopper cruise! We did this while we were still deciding on moving to Wilmington, and this activity sold us! There are several barrier islands here in Wilmington, and this boat ride brings you to all of them, with enough time to see the views, collect some shells, and hop in the water.
Erik and I loved this tour! Its perfect to learn about the history of Wilmington, while also visiting local small businesses for a refreshment along the way. The tour guide, Amanda, is so knowledgeable and fun!
Looking for a casual lunch? Jax is our favorite deli for sandwiches and wraps! Watch a sports game, enjoy the patio, or indulge on their homemade pickles! Emilys favorite is the grilled chicken caesar on a tomato basil wrap, and Eriks favorite is the 5th Ave sandwich
Need to stretch your legs after your travel day or get your hot girl walk in? This is the perfect 4 mile loop! We love to grab coffee around the corner at Current ILM and head to Greenfield. This walk loops around a lake, but there is also a playground, tennis courts, and canoe rentals!
perfect for drinks and smores by the fireplace! They take walk-ins, but from our experience, make a reservation! *welcome drinks will be at this location - no reservation is needed if you will be attending, we just ask you RSVP to welcome drinks*
Wrightsville Beach is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and scenic waterways. Visit the pier at Oceanic and enjoy the sunrise while watching local surfers, or take a lap around The Loop. Paid parking on the street and in the surface lots is enforced March 1 through October 31
Visit the iconic Carolina Beach Pier for a sweet treat, snack, or fun drinks! You can also travel a few minutes down the road to Kure Beach and Fort Fisher for less crowded beaches to soak up some rays! 4WD vehicles are allowed to drive straight onto the beach at Fort Fisher!
One of our favorite places for brunch - we bring everyone to this little spot when they come to visit! They do not take reservations, so we recommend showing up before 10am or check in online prior to driving to the restaurant. There are cute shops to walk into in the plaza if you have to wait for a table. Emily's favorite is the blueberry ricotta waffle!
