FAQs

Question

Are there any events happening in the area on wedding day?

Answer

Yes. The Shamrock Run will be taking place the morning of our wedding day. This all occurs on the west side of the river, so it is unlikely to affect parking and traffic on the east side (where our venue is). However, this does make parking and travel a bit more unpredictable. We recommend that you plan for delays and detours in traffic and that you understand parking may be a little trickier than usual. For more information on the Shamrock Run and their planned routes, please visit https://www.shamrockrunportland.com/

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

Street Parking Street parking is free on Sundays in Portland and we confirmed there should be plenty of available parking in the nearby blocks. We anticipate that the Shamrock Run will not impact this, but cannot be totally sure about that. We recommend showing up early just in case! Parking Lot There is a pay-to-park lot across the street from the venue. The prices are a bit on the spendy side, so we recommend street parking, or taking an Uber to keep it simple.

Question

Can I bring my kids along?

Answer

We love your little ones, and are admittedly on a bit of a budget. Because we can't provide for everyone's kiddo at this wedding, we are asking that this be an adults-only wedding (with the exception of Austin's little brother, who will be in the wedding party). If you won't be able to make it because of this, please let us know so we can do our best to work something out.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We're looking for "Cocktail Casual" attire - just think no sneakers or jeans.

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

Masks are not required, but are encouraged.

Question

Where can I stay if I'm travelling from out of town?

Answer

We gathered a few of our recommendations for hotels in the area. All on the list are within 2 miles of the venue! Check out the "Travel" link on this webpage for details.

Question

Will food and drinks be provided?

Answer

Absolutely! We will be catering brunch, which will include a breakfast bar with fruit, traditional breakfast foods (eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, muffins, bagels, pastries), and plenty of drinks - coffee, juice, mimosas and champagne. There will be vegan and gluten free options available, as well. There will also be a cash bar available for you to purchase drinks as you'd like, just in case you're craving something off-menu!

Question

Will there be a coat check at the door?

Answer

Yes there will! So if it's raining, bring your jacket and we'll keep it safe until you're ready to go.

Question

I didn't receive a program! What's the schedule for the day?

Answer

Do not fret! We didn't send any out and plan to have programs available to you at the door. Some of this is for suspense, while the rest is because we haven't had a lot of time to plan everything, so we're buying all the time we can get! Let us know if you have any specific questions! You can always email us at carternadeauloveday@gmail.com.

Question

Does my gift have to be from your registry?

Answer

No, of course not! However, if you'd like to get us a gift and nothing in our registry catches your eye, we encourage you to donate to our "Newlywed Fund." This is what we'll be using to plan our next exciting adventure! If you can't get a gift at all, DON'T SWEAT IT. Having you there to share this moment with us is what we want more than anything.
