The Ellington's Reception

Please join us for a long weekend at the Arizona Inn to celebrate our marriage! We have some fun things planned for each day that will be updated on this site and available when you check in. If you can only make it for a day or two, that works too. We are grateful to have you!

On Valentine's Day 2017, during a magical trip to Lanai, Hawaii, Erik Ellington asked Amy Gunther for her hand in marriage. Completely unprepared and without a ring, Erik nervously proposed as the sun set on the 13th hole of the golf course where they had sat many evenings prior. Almost a year to the date, on February 24, 2018 they were joined together in marriage on that very same spot of the golf course by their generous friend, Haylynn Cohen, who both opened her home to Amy and Erik's family and became an ordained minister in order to officiate the ceremony. It was a beautiful and intimate gathering in a spot which held special meaning for both Amy and Erik. The decision to keep the ceremony small was practically made for them due to many personal changes and adjustments at the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018. Amy began spending more time in Los Angeles, balancing her career in New York and welcoming the addition of family life with Erik's children, Julius and Mya. On a sadder note, Erik and Amy experienced the passing of Amy's father, James Gunther, and her beloved pup, Lucie soon after. They are both grateful for their sobriety and support from friends and family during this difficult time. Before they knew it, time to prepare for a big wedding was running out and they made the decision to have a small ceremony in Lanai. Amy and Erik would now like to invite their friends and family to the reception in Tucson, Arizona at The Arizona Inn. The Arizona Inn also has special meaning in that it is, not only one of their favorite places to stay, but it was also a destination on one of their first road trips together. The newlyweds are looking forward to spending time in Arizona with their cherished friends and family as they celebrate the next chapter in their lives!
