Travel & Accomodations

The Wedding Website of Weston Reed and Erika Bond
Our hub for travel information and lodging options. San Juan Island is a very popular destination in the summer - we recommend booking lodging & transportation as early as possible.

Travel Note

Getting to San Juan Island

The island is accessible by seaplane or ferry (as a walk-on passenger or with a vehicle). The most popular way to get to San Juan Island is to drive to the Anacortes ferry terminal (about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Seattle) and take the ferry to Friday Harbor. You can either drive onto the ferry or board as a walk-on passenger. For those bringing a vehicle - pre-booked ferry reservations are mandatory. If you’re planning to drive on to the ferry, vehicle reservations open April 14th at 10:00 AM — and we highly recommend booking as soon as they go live, as summer sailings tend to fill up quickly. You can book your reservations directly through the Washington State Ferries website (linked below) when reservations open. From there, click 'Make a Reservation' and select the Anacortes ⇄ Friday Harbor ferry route. - Reservations are required for vehicles (walk-ons are always available). We recommend booking a roundtrip reservation. - Roughly 25% of the available ferry reservations open on April 14th. Additional reservation spots open 2 weeks before and again 2 days before your travel date. - Plan to arrive at the terminal 60–90 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

Flight

Kenmore Air

Kenmore Air offers regularly scheduled flights to and from San Juan Island. Flights leave from Lake Union (Seattle) and arrive in Friday Harbor. These flights are less than an hour in duration and provide a beautiful, convenient way to get to the island.

Travel Note

Where to Stay

There are several places to stay on San Juan Island between hotels, bed and breakfasts, and vacation rentals. That said, the island is an extremely popular summer destination and accommodations tend to fill up quickly! We recommend booking your accommodations 9-10 months in advance, if possible. Below we have listed a few options for lodging in the area. Keep in mind that our wedding and weekend festivities will be located in downtown Friday Harbor, so staying near town is ideal for those without cars given its walkability. However, transportation will be available to and from Saltwater Farm on the wedding day.
