How We Met

#tinder

We met the old fashioned way, on Tinder. :) Tyson swept me off my feet swing dancing on our first date. Dancing the night away has turned into happily ever after. In the past four years, Tyson and I have gone through long distance relationship, renting our first apartment together, both starting new careers, raising our fur baby (Bronco) together, and falling more and more in love every step of the way.

Fate?

Three months into dating, I, Erika, got accepted into Lewis-Clark State College Bachelors of Nursing Program and Tyson was packing up his college life and moving to the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas, Nevada to follow where his career was taking him. Our lives were leading us apart, but we knew that our relationship was too special to let some distance get between us. While Tyson was packing for his new adventure, he decided to toss some junk that had accumulated over the years. Going through all the little items he had collected, he came across a card. He remembered the day he had found this card lying on the ground outside his dorm, while walking to his freshman math class. Looking back, he has no idea what even made him pick up this card...or why he never contacted the owner of the card. All he did was throw this persons card into his junk drawer, never to look at it again...until it was time to throw it away. Now, 5 years later, about to throw this card away, he took a second look at it. In disbelief at what he was seeing, he ran to his roommate asking him to read the name on the card. His roommate looked at him puzzled, saying, "Your girlfriend, Erika?" Tyson expressed, he had found this card 5 years earlier when he didn't even know me. (que the goosebumps!) Now, we don't know if it was fate or another power to be...but back then fate knew we were not supposed to meet yet. Both of us knew we needed to experience college, and just be young. Destiny has weird ways of knowing when the time is right for your person to come along and be your rock for the rest of your life.
