When we first met, we both worked at Lowe’s together. Tyler was interested first, and we talked every once in a while, but I was stubborn and wouldn’t say yes to a date. One day Tyler called into work to say he wouldn’t be coming in because there was a snowstorm and the roads were getting pretty bad. After I heard he called out I texted him to give him crap for not coming in, joking saying how he should come in because I was there. He told me if I wanted him to come in he would, of course. The next night, around 8pm, he randomly asked me to go out to get food and drinks, and (probably to his surprise) I finally said yes! He came over to pick me up and we ended up at the Dryden Hotel for a few hours hanging out and getting to know each other. I remember thinking to myself how stupid was I to not say yes earlier, since Tyler and I were so similar and got along so easily 🤍
After months and months of waiting the closing date for our house finally came! We both went into work for half day, came home to change and drop Ty’s truck off, and head to the closing. After signing all the paperwork we went to have a celebratory drink before finally heading back to our new home. Once home we got to take it all in, we were having friends and family over to celebrate becoming homeowners so we wanted to clean up a little bit before anyone got there. I was in the other room while Tyler was putting some music on. I heard the song “Greatest Love Story” come on and Tyler asked me if I wanted to dance. It was surreal, we were in our home (that we OFFICIALLY owned) and we were dancing to what we considered our song, and then I felt Tyler reach for his pocket! Tyler got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, I immediately started crying and said “really?!” to which he replied “so is that a yes?!” Of course I said yes! How could I say no to my forever love in our forever home?! It was a perfect moment, to top off a perfect day 🤍
