Dearest Family and Friends, I honestly did not think I would meet "the one" in college. I went into my sophomore year ready to pass my classes, make new friends, and grow in my relationship with God. As a member of the worship team at the "B" (Baptist Student Ministry), I loved worship, and getting to know everyone on the team, including Terfa, who worked the sound booth. During our lunch ministry, Terfa would tell me to eat more (as if he was my personal trainer). He'd invite me out to soccer (which I took a little too seriously), we'd play volleyball, and we'd watch the Chosen at my mission minister's home. This all happened in the month of April. We spent almost everyday together. Then a friend asked me if I liked Terfa. "Terfa?" I thought, "Definitely not". But that slowly started to change. On a hot spring day in 2022, I went on a coffee date at Mochas and Javas and ran right into Terfa and his friend! He asked me what I was doing (I attempted to dodge the question), and I joked that we should go on a date. "Everywhere" by Fleetwood Mac was playing through his earbuds as we discussed life. A month later, I texted Terfa to meet for lunch and tell him that I had feelings for him, hoping that he would reciprocate. At lunch, I blurted out "I like you" and he nodded his head, smiled, and replied "I like you too". Right then and there he asked me to be his girlfriend, before we went on our first date (lol). There has been so much that has happened between now and then. God surprised me with my best friend, and I cannot wait to marry him. He is funny, patient, kind, and forgiving. Thank you all for the support you have given us! We can't wait to see y'all at the wedding! With Love, Erika and Terfa
