Question

Where should I park for the ceremony?

Answer

Although most hotels are within walking distance, there will be parking for St. James Catholic Cathedral at the MAA Robinson Parking garage. The church has 200 spaces dedicated exclusively for the Chancery and St. James Cathedral. Use parking spots that say, “St. James Cathedral Parking Only.” There are entrances on both Robinson Street and State Lane.

Where should I park for the reception?

Answer

Although we will be providing a charter bus to transport guests from the church to the reception, there will be parking for the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. You can find the SunTrust Center Parking Garage on South Street. Parking for the garage is $15.00.

What should I wear?

Answer

Wardrobe option for both the Ceremony and Reception are Formal. Out of respect for the sacred nature of the wedding mass and Catholic Church please cover bare shoulders and backs while inside the church. Thank you!

How do you recommend I get to and from your wedding?

Answer

We will have a charter bus taking guests from the church to the venue. However, you can also walk from the church to the venue as they are several blocks from each other. The charter bus will also be in service throughout the night to take guests back to the Hilton Garden Inn until 12:30am.

When should I arrive for each event?

Answer

For the Ceremony, we recommend arriving between 5:30pm to 5:50pm to give yourself time to say your hellos and find a seat in the church. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00pm. The Cocktail Hour will begin promptly at 7:00pm with the Reception following right after promptly at 8:00pm. Attendants at the Dr.Phillips Performing Arts Center will help to escort you from the terrace to the DeVos Family room on the third floor.

Do you have a hotel block?

Answer

Yes! We have a hotel block at the Hilton Garden Inn. Please be sure to follow the link that is provided in the Travel section of the website to ensure that you get a room in our block.
