We met as counselors at Galileo Summer camp. Michael had just graduated culinary school and was about to leave for a year long trip to Europe. Erika had just graduated nursing school and NCLEX studying was in full swing; romance was the furthest thing away from both of their minds. However, there was no denying there was something special once they bonded over bay area sports. On the last day of summer camp, all the counselors celebrated over drinks at a local sports bar where Michael saw his window of opportunity: *Erika watching 49ers highlights* Michael: "Do you like the 49ers?" Erika: "Yes" Michael: "Do you like the Giants?" Erika: "Yes" Michael: "Do you like the Warriors?" Erika: "Yes" Michael: "oh my god.... do you want to go a Giants game?" Erika: "Sure!" Nothing like a Bay Area love story :)

On a beautiful Saturday morning, Michael took Erika to their favorite place, Fort Funston. It's a gorgeous hiking trail right above Ocean Beach that also happens to be an off leash dog park. It's a place where Michael and Erika shared many bagels and coffee, as their love grew over the years. Michael led Erika and Zola through a small pathway to a field of flowers in full bloom along the coastline. Michael slowly got down on one knee, asked Erika to turn around and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. After the intimate proposal, Michael then surprised Erika with an engagement party back home in San Mateo, with family and friends. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of love, tequila, and good food.
