We met how most amazing couples meet...the internet! Lauren's Version: One day, after I was just about to deactivate all her dating app accounts, I decided to give one of them (Hinge) one last shot. I knew what I wanted and that I was ready to settle down and marry, but I had no luck finding the one woman who checked all my boxes. Then, I came across Erika's profile where I discovered that she was a really smart and very caring school teacher who earned her Master's in Microbiology and Immunology, and whose special interest was history, which really piqued my interest because I'm a history nerd too! So, I swiped right and soon after was notified that we were a match. After that, we exchanged messages for a couple of weeks and then decided to have our first phone call. That phone call lasted 6 hours. Yes, six. hours. After about two weeks of long phone calls and google meet video calls (Erika was a dirty android user...ew.) Erika decided to ask me out on a date to Blue Sushi in Fort Worth, Texas. The date was so amazing, Erika asked me to go on another date the very next day to see the hit movie Barbie. Of course, I said yes, partially because I really liked Erika and partially to see my celebrity crush, Margot Robbie (hehe). As the date ended, Erika and I shared our very first kiss (cue in Fireworks by Katy Perry). From that moment on, we never spent another weekend apart, and the rest is history! Erika's Version: After a while on dating apps, I had found and connected with some good people, but hadn't meet MY people, or more accurately, my person. Lauren was a breath of fresh air, funny, intellegent (a whole lawyer), and was someone that I just instantly clicked with. Our phone call had me hooked, we meshed so well and understood each other so easily, we got each other's senses of humor and appreciated each other's thoughtful insights. Our first date was so good, my struggle to find parking was quickly forgotten. At the end of our date, I asked when we could go out again. When Lauren said she was free the next day, I jumped at the opportunity, even though it meant I had to drive 45 minutes in the middle of the night to her side of town. Our second date was to see the new Barbie movie. Lauren was focused on the movie, but I was more focused on her. After that I knew I had found the one.
