Our story started in a church class about how to witness to others… a class where, ironically, we didn’t say a single word to each other. For weeks, we sat in the same room, quietly listening and learning—completely unaware that the person sitting just a few feet away would one day become our forever. On the very last day of class, Kaden finally worked up the courage to introduce himself to Erika. Just a simple “Hey, I’m Kaden” was enough to spark something we didn’t even realize was beginning. From there, small group conversations turned into real friendship. We found ourselves laughing and talking more at every hangout, naturally gravitating toward each other. But everything shifted the day we played pickleball—just the two of us. It was our first one-on-one hangout, and Erika may or may not have crushed Kaden in the one and only game we’ve played. (He claims beginner’s luck… she disagrees.) Instead of a rematch, we went for a walk—and that turned into hours of conversation. That was the moment we really started to see each other for who we were and where this could be going. Erika has always loved going to the park to read or journal, so she started inviting Kaden to join. Those casual meetups quickly became a sweet tradition—what we now call our “park dates.” We’d sit under the trees, talk about life, laugh, and share our hearts. Without even realizing it, we were falling for each other. Then one morning, Kaden decided to make things official with a note left on Erika’s car asking if she’d be his girlfriend. (Spoiler alert: she said yes.) And now here we are—starting the biggest adventure of our lives. From silence in a church class, to long walks in the park, to a life full of love… we’re so grateful for the journey that brought us here.
