Places to Stay
The main neighbourhoods are:
Brickell:
This is like a busy downtown with lots of shops and places to eat. Very safe, lots of tourists.
Downtown Miami:
It's the city's main hub for museums, sports events, and shows, with lots of places to eat and easy train and buss access to get around.
Edgewater:
A more relaxed area on the bay with lovely parks and food.
Wynwood: An artsy neighborhood famous for its giant colourful murals and trendy spots, but it's a bit further out from downtown and a little sketch.
South Beach:
Art deco buildings, tourists, and great beach access. Very lively.
Mid-beach:
Fancy hotels and a more upscale, relaxed vibe, still with great beach access and some trendy restaurants but less of the wild party scene.
North Beach:
A quieter, more local beach town feel, with beautiful, less crowded beaches and an old-school Miami Modern (MiMo) architectural style.
