High school sweethearts? We guess so! We just didn’t know it until we started dating 6 years later. A social media post and a few outings later and we hit off. Our first date was at a Yogurtland and life began to be a bit brighter for both of us.
A day at the happiest place on earth with a night we would never forget. During winter season when the castle is beautiful at night, we posed for a picture in front of the castle. As she looked at the camera I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She was shocked and as I spoke to her and told her how much I loved her she said “YES”! It was a beautiful and magical night at the happiest place on earth.
Little Erika had already beat me to being the first one to proprose, but that didn’t matter to me. I still wanted to have the opportunity to do it myself. We had just arrived in Las Vegas and I was having trouble deciding where I wanted to do it. I had the ring and was ready. Nervous as ever, but I was ready! I came across the gondola ride and knew that was the place! I knew that actually going to Venice was a little out of reach, so the Venetian was as close as we were gonna get. I had a friend set it up with the gondola driver since she was nervous and I was trying to calm her down. We made it onto the gondola, my friend signaled me that it was time. As we’re cruising down and the gondola driver is singing, I asked her to close her eyes. I unbuckled my seatbelt, carefully got up, unrolled the ring from a tissue it was wrapped in, I got on one knee, and asked her to open her eyes. I had a whole speech that I wanted to say, but I was too emotional and started crying. All I managed to say was, “You know that I love you. Will you marry me?” She cried as well and said “Yes’” The crowd around us cheered and to be honest that is one of the happiest days of my life!
