Esta historia de amor comienza en septiembre de 2010 cuando Edwin y Erika estaban en el bachiller. Edwin se aseguró de sentarse frente a ella y se presentó. Como la clase de español era la única clase que tenían juntos, Edwin se aseguraba de sentarse cerca de Erika pero solo tenían pequeñas conversaciones. Con el paso del tiempo, empezaron a agradarse, pero ambos eran demasiado tímidos para compartir sus verdaderos sentimientos. Su amistad tuvo algunos altibajos y se dieron cuenta de que tal vez no estaban destinados a ser amigos, sino que en realidad estaban destinados a ser el uno para el otro. Un día en clase de español, estaban hablando de sus nombres. Erika y Edwin se dieron cuenta de que ambos tienen las mismas iniciales "E.M." Pensaron que era genial tener las mismas iniciales y se preguntaron si tenían un segundo nombre. Una vez que compartieron cuáles son sus segundos nombres, se dieron cuenta de que comparten las mismas iniciales para su nombre, segundo nombre y apellido. Este fue un momento que provocó una conexión más profunda entre ellos. Unos meses más tarde, Edwin le pidió a Erika que fuera su novia el 14 de marzo de 2011. El 14 de marzo de 2020, Edwin le regaló a Erika un anillo de promesa y le dijo que estará con ella por el resto de su vida y que algún día cambiará el anillo de promesa por un anillo de compromiso. El 14 de marzo de 2023 en Cancún, México, Edwin y Erika caminaron por el resort Xcaret donde Edwin le pidió que se casara con él. Ahora esperan con ansias el 14 de junio de 2025 que será cuando se darán el “sí, quiero” y continuarán su historia de amor como marido y mujer.

This love story begins in September 2010 when Edwin and Erika were in high school. It was the first day of freshman year when Edwin noticed Erika in the hallways and had an instant feeling that she is the one. Come to find out, they both had Spanish class together. Edwin made sure he sat in front of her and introduced himself. Since Spanish class was the only class they had together, Edwin would make sure he sat near Erika but they would only have small conversations. As time went by, they began to like each other but both were too shy to share their true feelings to one another. Their friendship had some ups and downs and they realized that maybe they weren't meant to be friends but were actually meant to be soulmates. One day in Spanish class, they were talking about their names. Erika and Edwin realized that they both have the same initials "E.M." They thought it was so cool to have the same initials and asked each other if they have a middle name. Once they shared what their middle names are, they realized that they share the same initials for their first, middle, and last name. This was a moment that sparked a deeper connection to one another. Fast forward a few months, Edwin asked Erika to be his girlfriend on March 14, 2011 and became high school sweethearts. On March 14, 2020, Edwin gave Erika a promise ring and said that he will be with her for the rest of his life and that one day he will change the promise ring for an engagement ring. On March 14, 2023 in Cancun Mexico, Edwin and Erika walked down the Xcaret resort where Edwin asked her to marry him. Now they are eagerly awaiting June 14, 2025 which is when they will say "I do" and continue their love story as husband and wife.
