Glensheen Mansion Tour
Aside from its architectural significance, Glensheen is noteworthy for the murders of Elisabeth Congdon and her nurse, Velma, in 1977. Roger, the husband of Elisabeth's adopted daughter, Marjorie, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and received two life sentences. Marjorie was charged with aiding and abetting and conspiracy to commit murder but was acquitted on all charges.
Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar
Little more upscale restaurant with craft cocktails and delicious food. Davis and I always go for happy hour and get the pesto pizza with maple balsamic!
Fitger's Brewhouse Brewery and Grille
Davis & I love coming here to do a little shopping and then have lunch afterwards. It has the best wild rice burger EVER!
Aerial Lift Bridge & Martitime Visitor Center
Watch the big boats come in at the Aerial Lift Bridge and go for a walk on the boardwalk. While you are there, be sure to check out the free Maritime Visitor Center!

Fancy craft cocktail lounge right next to the Aerial Lift Bridge
Great Lakes Aquarium
Check out all the fish & critters at the aquarium!
Hoops Brewing Company
For those of you who are staying at The Suites Hotel, you won't even need to leave your building because Hoops is located in the same building. Hoops has great beer and is great for bigger parties. Always a must stop for Davis & I.

Great beer and even better pizza. They have a nice little patio with fire pits as well!

The campgrounds where we got engaged! Hike up the Day Hill trail to see the breathtaking fall colors. *55 minute drive from the venue
