After numerous swipes to the right, neither Erika nor Dan had any reason to believe their first date would be any different than those in the past. And, the fact that Dan - with a tendency towards punctuality - arrived at the Chicago restaurant 10 minutes early, and Erika - who struggles with timeliness - ran 10 minutes late, didn’t bode well at the onset. Since then, however, they have enjoyed a multitude of adventures together. Among them include attending a Lady Gaga concert, a couple of Broadway shows (Erika’s favorites), and several professional and college baseball and basketball games (Dan’s passion). They even joined other friends and played on the same team for the Chicago Sport and Social Club Soccer League. Despite Dan’s personal coaching and continuous encouragement for Erika, and Erika’s tenacity (showing up in below 20 degree weather while never really grasping the game of soccer) at the season’s end - relieved no one was injured - they agreed that ball sports were most likely NOT Erika’s forte. They were, nonetheless, able to laugh about the experience. Their ongoing willingness to explore each other’s interests along with their mutual respect and love for family, friends and helping others, continually deepens their bond and eagerness to share their future together.
