Andrew and I met in college at Ramapo College of New Jersey. We hung out with similar friends and I attended a number of parties at his less than lovely frat house referred to as Babcock. Who would have thought this would be where our love story would begin? Fast forward 9 years, Andrew and I end up going out with a group of college friends in Jersey City (where we now live together!). We started talking at the bar and catching up on life and we really hit it off. Andrew had a one- way plane ticket booked for San Diego for a couple weeks after that, so I thought this would only be a fling that wouldn’t turn into much of anything. Turns out I was wrong, in all the best ways. Andrew and I made the long distance relationship work for the 7 weeks he was in Cali. He even planned to fly me out there for a couple of days to spend time together. In March 2020, Andrew flew home to NJ for a long weekend to see friends and family. Well, COVID had other plans and that long weekend turned into 3 months living with his parents at their home in Manalapan. I was unfortunately working in the Emergency Department at the time and didn’t feel comfortable seeing Andrew and potentially exposing him and his family to the virus. So, we made the long distance relationship work for another 2.5 months, although we were only living 45 minutes away from one another. We talked on the phone and FaceTimed everyday. Andrew supported me through all my anxieties and tears working in the midst of the pandemic. Little did I know that some of the toughest months of my life were also the months that we were building the foundation for the most incredible relationship. We fell in love, and here we are, planning our wedding.
