We’re getting married!

I like to tell people it took Alex an entire year to ask me to be his girlfriend, he likes to tell people he was just getting to know me. We met at work (L O Eye Care) in February 2018. We became close friends after a few months, and finally in June 2019 he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Our cruise for November 2020 was canceled due to COVID-19 so instead I easily convinced Alex to take me to Disney World! We flew to Florida, visited some of my family in Jacksonville, and then went to Orlando. Our plan was to just go to Hollywood studios since we couldn’t get the park hopper pass and we both love star wars, but my dad called me surprising us with a second day at the Magic Kingdom! When we got there Alex wanted to take a picture of only me in front of the castle and said “we can take one together later on.” We went about our day and after passing the castle at least a dozen times, we finally decided to get a picture together. We couldn’t find a professional photographer anywhere so decided to ask somebody else to take our picture. It was dark at this point so we had to use night mode to capture us and the castle. Alex is the typical guy who hates getting his photo taken but dragged me by hand to several different spots. We settled on the bridge to the right of the castle and found someone to take our pictures. After she snapped several shots she handed the phone back to Alex. She walked away and then came back asking if they looked okay. Alex handed her the phone and said “hang on, I wanted to do one more thing” then walked me back to where were standing, got down on his knee and said “Erika, my princess, I love you. Will you marry me?” The rest of course is history💕
