It's as though Walt Disney wrote Jessica and Erik's love story. Erik's first name and Jessica's middle name, Ariel, were both named after The Little Mermaid. Jessica crash-landed to Los Angeles in September 2017 to rebuild her life on the West Coast. During that same month, Erik had just moved back to his LA hometown from Sacramento to go back to school to become a welder. One night Jess met up with a former coworker in Hollywood at a bar called The Surly Goat. Jess was wearing a pink glittery kitty mask that night because it was the weekend before Halloween. At the table next to Jess was a friendly group that she made small talk with when Erik got up from his table and walked over to her to introduce himself and kiss her hand. When talking, the two quickly found out that somehow in the massive county of LA, they actually lived very close to one another in Santa Clarita, so they exchanged numbers. The next morning Erik texted Jessica to see how the rest of her night went, and Jessica having been hurt by many guys in the past, ignored the text, figuring that Erik was just another guy from a bar. A week passed by and Jess walked outside of the mall in Santa Clarita when she suddenly heard someone calling her name, “Jess!” Confused, she raised an eyebrow and turned around to see a giant 6'5 man in front of her. It was Erik! Lightning had struck twice in one week. After a house party together, the next time they saw each other again was at the LA Halloween parade, where Jessica and Erik shared their first kiss as they danced on their favorite holiday. After that night it took nine months for Erik to convince Jess to get romantically involved with him. During those nine months, the two experienced almost every holiday together. Luckily, Erik, stubborn as ever, persisted. Fast forward and the two have been inseparable for the past 5 years.
