Fly into either Sacramento (closest), Oakland (cheapest), or San Francisco and get a rental car to drive to one of 5 entrances to Yosemite National Park. We will be entering closest to a town called Mariposa. ****if you know your friend or family member going, try to coordinate flights and book large rental SUVs together- there is limited parking in the park****
Yes! The cost is $35/vehicle and the pass is good for 7 days in the park. Visit https://www.yosemitehikes.com/yosemite-info/admission.htm
I’ve seen conflicting information on what month this requirement starts, either October or November. My advice is to check here prior to entering park closer to the date as I’m sure the weather is not predictable: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/tirechains.htm
YES! Go to for day hike information: https://www.yosemitehikes.com/hikes.htm
Yes! There is a lottery system to apply to hike this amazing Yosemite feature. Lottery system is now closed, however two days prior to the day you want to hike, you may apply for the daily lottery. Make sure you print out your ticket as sometimes there is no cell service in the park and you need to keep this on you
