You know how Facebook gives you "Suggested Friends"? Well, Erika was one of Austin's suggested friends with over 100 mutual friends. So, of course, he has to add this girl who he's clearly meant to meet. After some considerable stalking, he adds her and messages her. She reluctantly answers, unsure of the intentions of this Texas guy messaging her out of the blue. From there a very long friendship begins to build. Started off by texting a couple times a week, to calling, then calling daily and finally FaceTiming. Finally, after a year of friendship (we like to say we were intentional pen pals), we met in person in Florida. We stayed just friends until we went on a friends trip to Miami the next year and really got to know each other and friends. The trip that made everything official was when Erika went to Texas (the first time ever) for Memorial Day weekend. They floated the river with friends and Austin took her to the spot where his parents met. A year and a half later on August 11th, Austin asked Erika to marry him at the top of a waterfall in Alabama and she said yes. We are so excited to share our big day with all of our loved ones!
