Bride
Nikki was born and raised in Connecticut. Coincidentally growing up across the street from a baseball field, her childhood and teenage years were happily spent playing sports. She attended UConn (the Basketball Capital of the World) and pursued a degree in Communications & Sport Promotion, in the hopes of one day making a career out of sports. She did, in fact, and worked in collegiate athletics for 10 years. She had found her first love (sports) but knew there was another love out there for her. That’s when she decided, “Fine, I’ll give it a month” and joined an online dating website.
Groom
Erik grew up in California, and moved to Massachusetts in his youth. He excelled in music and sports, and grew to love slaying it in the kitchen, cooking and baking. Erik pursued a Business degree, and after graduating college, he decided he needed to get out of debt immediately. So, he got a job, and paid his bills. Then, he decided he no longer wanted to be alone, because life was fun, but it could be better. So, he did the one thing he never thought he would do. Ironically, not by his own doing (thanks Laura), he joined an online dating website.
Our Story
Nikki & Erik met at the Wachusett Brewery Taproom in Worcester, Mass. Nikki likes to remind Erik that he was late to the date, and Erik will always remind Nikki that, “Free parking is worth the wait.” The two hit it off, and continued to see each other. One found out she couldn’t get a word in, unless she interrupted. The other found out, exactly what he needed, but he didn’t know until it was time. Both saw the greater side of the other, but looked inward to see the flaws in themselves, wanting to improve upon each other. They grew more together, because they were right for each other. The couple traveled a lot and discovered each other’s fond appreciation for seafood (specifically shellfish). In addition to traveling and food, the couple enjoys sports, hiking, and the beach. On a weekend, one could typically find Nikki & Erik at a local brewery checking out what’s new on tap. They also like to visit local wineries, despite Erik’s California persnickety taste buds. After two years of travel, relationship growth, and personal development, Erik decided it was time to ask Nikki “the big question”. Even though the weather was not cooperating - the rain was cold, and the love was hot (like Nikki’s lobster dinner), he popped the question, and now here they are are - ENGAGED!
