We said said “I do” on a sunny Sunday afternoon on March 9th, 2025 in a cozy ceremony at our apartment. In July, we took a road trip to Independence, California to capture the exchanging of our vows at Gilbert Lake on the John Muir trail in the Inyo National Forest. We hiked two miles to the lake, our dress and tux on our backs, to exchange vows at sunset. The setting was perfect, with the sunset falling on the mountains surrounding the lake, and the gentle breeze carrying the scent of wildflowers, juniper trees, and sage brush. Our elopement was everything we dreamed of—intimate, romantic, and uniquely ours, it was the perfect blend of love and adventure.
Lydia and Erik met in Vancouver, Washington on December 1, 2022. Lydia had moved to Washington in September 2022, and Erik was attending fight school learning to fly helicopters in Oregon. From the first date, they were smitten and thus began a whirlwind relationship full of adventure and traveling. Erik moved to Boston, Massachusetts for work in June 2023 where he taught others to fly, flew helicopter tours over the city, and proposal and gender reveal flights. Lydia stubbornly declared the Pacific Northwest home, and a bicoastal long distance relationship was the only option. In September 2024, Erik returned to the PNW and their relationship grew stronger than ever. With their combined love of traveling, skydiving, cooking, skiing, and hiking they’ve found their perfect match and favorite adventure companion.
Although we decided to celebrate our love with the company of each other, please know that you are in our thoughts and forever will be in our hearts. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all and share more about our special day. Thank you for your love and support as we start this new chapter together!
