Pat and Emily first crossed paths as freshmen at Marist High School in 2011. They ran in the same friend group but were both dating other people at the time. Fast forward to the summer before their sophomore year of college in 2016- both single and spending more time together- their friendship began to shift into something more. Just before heading back to different colleges in different states, Pat asked Emily the first big question of their relationship: “Will you be my girlfriend?” Emily said yes, marking the start of what would become seven years of long distance. After finishing undergrad, their long distance journey continued. Emily moved back home to pursue occupational therapy at Governors State University, while Pat headed off to Creighton University for dental school. Through all the miles, they stayed committed and put in the work to make their relationship thrive- proving that distance really does make the heart grow fonder. Once Pat graduated, the big question became: Where do we build our life together? Colorado had always held a special place in their hearts, thanks to the memorable ski trips with the Meehan family. So, they made the exciting decision to start fresh in a place they loved- Colorado- where they could lean on each other, build new friendships, and grow their relationship even more. Their time living together in Colorado deepened their bond, and in September 2024, Pat asked Emily the second and MOST important question: “Will you marry me?” And she said YES! Now, after three wonderful years of calling Colorado Springs home, Pat and Emily cannot wait to celebrate their love in the place where their new chapter began. They’re thrilled to welcome all their favorite people to the city that has meant so much to them- and they can’t wait to share the magic of Colorado Springs with you!
