Lauren and Allen met back in August of 2011 when Lauren took a new job at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. Allen being a veteran with the school's Sports Medicine Staff was quick to include Lauren in the normal Conway activities; fun nights at Cactus Jack's, running the UCA stadium stairs, and frequent trips to the "big city" of Little Rock for hikes on Pinnacle Mountain and eating at local restaurants. Conway being a "dry county", presented Lauren with the perfect opportunity to introduce Allen to the vast world of microbreweries. After Lauren 4 years at UCA, Lauren decided to take a job in Seattle and made the big move. It wasn't too long before Allen and Lauren both realized that they wanted to be together officially. For 2 years they did the long distance thing, Allen visiting Lauren in Seattle twice a year and Lauren going back to Little Rock once a year. Then in 2017, Allen made the move and took a new job in Seattle. Although Seattle was a short term move, the city left a lasting impression on the two of them. As hard as it was, Lauren and Allen found jobs in the Kansas City area and made yet another move. Allen proposed to Lauren on February 8th, 2020 in Kansas City after taking her out to a nice restaurant and surprising her with flowers and the ring right after. ... In light of the current events and out of an abundance of caution and concern, we decided to postpone our wedding celebration. Instead, we were able to honor our commitment to one another, by getting officially married on February 27th, 2021 in a small intimate ceremony with immediate family.
