COVID-19 Requirements for traveling to Oahu

Current (March 26, 2022) NOTICE: Hawai‘i Safe Travels restrictions ended on 03/25/2022 at 11:59 p.m. HST. Travelers arriving on 03/26/2022 and beyond will no longer be required to complete a Safe Travels application to enter Hawai‘i. Beginning at 12:00 a.m. HST, 03/26/2022, there will be no COVID-related requirements for arriving domestic passengers. Travelers arriving in Hawai‘i directly from international airports must still comply with U.S. federal requirements; consult with your airline.

Flight

Honolulu (Daniel K. Inouye) International Airport

The Honolulu Airport is easy to navigate and is only a short car ride or Uber to MANY different hotels in Waikiki. If you are looking for more of the "hustle and bustle" or city scene - Waikiki is definitely where you'll want to stay! The location of the wedding ceremony and reception is about a 45-minute drive north from the airport.

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines currently has one nonstop flight to Oahu (Honolulu) out of Sacramento (SMF), two out of Los Angeles (LAX), and three out of Oakland (OAK) each day. Currently, for the month of August, there are no nonstop flights out of San Francisco, Fresno, or Burbank. This information is subject to change - Please check the SWA website for updates occasionally. There are many other flights with stops, layovers, and/or plane changes at all aforementioned airports. Southwest is the cheaper of the two options listed here as seating is first-come first-served.

Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian Airlines currently has one nonstop flight to Oahu (Honolulu) out of Sacramento (SMF), Oakland (OAK), and San Francisco (SFO) and three out of Los Angeles (LAX) each day. Currently, Hawaiian Air does not fly out of Fresno, or Burbank. This information is subject to change - Please check the Hawaiian website for updates occasionally. There are other flights with stops, layovers, and/or plane changes at some aforementioned airports. Hawaiian is the more expensive of the two options listed here as seating is selected, and meals are served.

House Or Rental

Pat's at Punaluu

Pat's is a large condominium complex that has many units for rent on Airbnb and VRBO (input your parameters + Punaluu, Hawaii as the location to narrow down the search). It has mostly private beach access, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center. Only a 5-minute walk from: a local market; fresh fruit vendor; food truck; and a shave ice stand! Pat's is also just a short 10-minute drive to both Kualoa Ranch - the wedding and ceremony location, and a full grocery store. Many guests will be staying here, so it could possibly become the "hub" for fun and festivities! NOTE: Rentals are quickly selling out for the month of August, so please book ASAP!

Courtyard by Marriott Oahu North Shore

For those looking to book a hotel instead of a rental, this 4.5/5 rated Marriott is only a 20-minute drive from the wedding location - Kualoa Ranch. This hotel is also walking distance from the renowned Polynesian Cultural Center, it's attractions, museum, and marketplace.

Turtle Bay Resort

Looking for luxury? Turtle Bay is a newly renovated, experience-filled resort - Complete with dining, activities and lodging - Including options for standard and executive hotel rooms, villas, and bungalows. Turtle Bay is about a 40-minute drive to the location of the wedding, Kualoa Ranch.

Rental Car

Turo

The wedding location is approximately 25 miles from the airport, so we recommend renting a car, or making travel arrangements with another guest. We suggest Turo - It's like Airbnb for cars! If you prefer a more traditional rental car option, there are several corporate companies (such as Enterprise, Hertz, etc.) at the Honolulu airport. Please be aware that most rental car companies in Hawaii have increased prices exponentially. NOTE: Taxis and rideshares aren't always available north of Honolulu where the wedding will be held.
