How we met

If you know us you know we LOVE baseball. Our mutual best friend Justin had invited us out for drinks on the patio at Evo. I was wearing a zip up St. Louis Cardinals jacket and he was wearing a San Francisco Giants hoody (yes we wear jackets in Arizona) and I asked him why he was wearing garbage ;) Our friendly banter continued throughout the evening, and we ended up at Talking Stick Casino until the sun came up. Ericks birthday was 3 days later and I asked him out for Birthday beers back at Evo- we were pretty much inseparable from that time on.

Our engagment

July 6th, 2018 San Fransisco, California

We love to travel together, and as mentioned above we love baseball. The Cardinals were playing the Giants over the 4th of July so we planned a trip to go back to one of out favorite cities, San Francisco. Let me just state for the record that I HAD NO IDEA this was going to be an engagement trip.... We watched fireworks over the bay on the 4th and we went to the game on Friday the 5th- the original plan I guess was for him to propose at the game- but it didn't happen. I even had gotten a few inquiry texts the next day as to how the night was but it didn't even occur to me. Saturday the 6th I had gotten us first row tickets behind the Cardinals dugout but it was a night game so we set out early to do what we do best-- eat and drink our way though the city. We had an amazing meat and cheese board at Trou Normand, we walked along the bay up to the ferry building to one of our favorite restaurants, The Slanted Door. We then headed to one of my other favorites, the house of the original Irish coffee, The Buena Vista. It was the PERFECT San Francisco day so after our Irish coffees we had some time to kill so we headed across the street to the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park. I had kicked off my shoes and was putting my jacket down in the grass when I turned around Erick was down on one knee. I honestly thought he was just sitting down in the grass. I went to sit down and he grabbed my hand and pulled out the ring. I believe my first comments were "wait you have a f****** ring!!!! It was the PERFECT day and the PERFECT proposal.
