"We Were Together, I forget the Rest." - Walt Whitman
It was 75 degrees and beautiful in Montauk. It was the first sunny day that week. Things were hectic. Family was in town and we were getting ready for our yearly beach BBQ. Erich was very adamant on heading to the beach early to catch the sunset. However, not knowing the plan, I was taking my sweet time. Erich wanted to take out the stand up paddle board and kayak. I didn't think anything of it as our boards were already down there. The water looked so glassy and peaceful who could refuse. I will never forget, right before I went into the water, my oldest brother (David) gave me a kiss on the cheek. As I am infamous for ruining surprises, Erich won and pulled off the greatest surprise of all time. My family, (about 40 of them) and the rest of the beach cheered as Erich got down on one knee in the middle of the ocean. I sat there in shock as the sun kissed the water and I thought, life couldn't be better than this moment. There was tons of champagne, food, and fireworks to end the night. We were surrounded by family and friends as we sent floating lanterns up into the clear night sky. It was evident that every shooting star I wished on had come true. It was truly an unforgettable night and we are happy to be able to share it with you. With Love, Michelle & Erich
