Maid of Honor
I’m the middle sister of the Doll family. I’ve been an ICU nurse for 3 years and I recently moved to Milwaukee, WI with my boyfriend. I’ve always been extremely protective of my family, so when I first met Erich, we might’ve gotten off on the wrong foot. I quickly realized he is actually the perfect person for Jessica and he knows how to read her like a book. I’ve never seen my sister happier. Erich fits in perfectly with our family and can handle the Doll sister trio (we’re a package deal). We’re all so thankful Erich came into our lives and we’re excited for what the future has in store. Cheers!
Best Man
I first met Erich at Miami University we both left there not really knowing what the future would hold. Fate would have it that we would not only both attend University of Cincinnati but work back to back from one another. In total, I have known Erich for the better part of 5 years and Jess for 4 years. During this time, I have had the pleasure of being witness (and the occasional third wheel) to Erich and Jess’s relationship as it has grown and become stronger. Through every giant Jenga tournament, board game night, party and renaissance festival it was easy to see they had something truly special. As they have always been there for me I am truly honored to be there for them on this momentous occasion.
Maid of Honor
Hi, I am Alanna; Jessica's youngest sister. Also known as the favorite sister. Growing up, Jessica paved the path and set the example for how to be. She was always the outrageously smart, well behaved sister. Erich came into our lives a little over three years ago and was told that if he dated one Doll, he dated all three Dolls. He obviously jumped on board. I am so happy for them to continue creating a beautiful life together. They were made for eachother.
Groomsman
Erich and I have been good friends for a number of years now. Ever since I met him in a stairwell and proceeded to spoonfeed him lies at lunch afterwards. For whatever reason this didn't come up as a red flag, and we became pretty inseparable for the rest of college. We don't see each other as much now that I moved back to Columbus, except for Origins game fair, which is incidentally where I met Jess. They seem like a great fit for each other, and I'm anxious to see what else life has in store for these two wonderful people!
Bridesmaid
Clare is the only sister to Erich, but soon he will be adding two more. She is currently in her final semester of college studying both Political Science and Special Education, ASL/English Interpreting. Growing up with a big brother was easy when you have a brother like Erich. He will always be her role model: someone to lean on, someone to count on, someone to live up to. Clare has always been hard to please when it came to the girls Erich brought home because she knew how incredibly special her older brother was. Well......Clare WAS difficult to win over until she met Jess. Ever since meeting Jess, Clare knew she met the gorgeous and brilliant woman she would love to call a sister and another role model.
Groomsman
Erich and I met during their sophomore year at Miami University during one of our favorite weeks, HvZ. Upon first impressions, we didn't see eye to eye but during the course of the week, grew close and eventually became good friends. During their senior year at Miami, we became roommates. Being roommates only help solidify our friendship via game nights, cooking and many a late nights debating various topics. Erich was a groomsman in Lucas' wedding a couple years back, reuniting the two after being separated due to Lucas moving back north to Columbus. As a dear friend of not only Erich, but now Jess, and a fellow geek, Lucas looks forward to the life these two will create.
Bridesmaid
I first met Jess during my second year of grad school while watching Game of Thrones at Erich’s apartment (which, for all of you who know them well, is kind of a perfect representation of their relationship). After that, I started dating Jason (and credit goes to the bride and groom for making that relationship take off!) and got to know Jess and Erich much better during wine festivals, beer festivals, cookouts, sushi double dates and holiday parties. Not only do they make the perfect power couple, but they are also generous, loving, fierce competitors at games, and overall a force to be reckoned with.
Groomsman
I met Erich and Jess when I came to Cincinnati to interview for graduate school. I got to know Erich much better after I joined his lab about a year later, and started to develop a friendship based around similarly geeky interests (Game of Thrones, the Ohio Renaissance Festival, board games…). Though this, I also got to know Jess quite a bit better as the two share a mutual appreciation for most of these same hobbies. These shared interests, in terms of shared careers based on a profound passion for science, a shared interest in cuisine, or these hobbies I have been fortunate to be able to enjoy with them, form a firm foundation for a relationship, and will undoubtedly make for a happy marriage.
