This region is just lovely! Believe it or not you’ll want a sweater as it gets chilly up in the clouds. There are breathtaking hotels, excellent home grown coffee and delicious restaurants here for a day trip or extended stay. Eric and I strongly recommend the bicycle tour. If you plan to visit Portland also you could easily include BlueMountain on the same day trip or extended stay.
It’s another beautiful (west) side of the island. ~2.5-3hr drive from Runaway bay, we think it’s more romantic too. It’s known for its miles of sandy beaches on shallow bays with calm, turquoise waters. Seven Mile Beach, particularly the portion overlooking Long Bay, is lined with bars, restaurants and resorts, many of them international and all-inclusive. If you’re planning on extending your stay beyond the wedding you may want to spend time here. Our travel agent can help you plan your trip too!
Portland is a parish on the northeast coast of the island of Jamaica. You’ll find the BEST jerk pork here and the beautiful blue lagoon. It’s way less touristy, not as well known and another option if you plan to extend your stay on Jamaica.
If you find yourself in Kingston you MUST stop here for world renowned ice cream and patties.
This is not really a food or activity recommendation. Just a Fun Fact. The bride’s mother was a teacher here, Morant Bay Prep School, and lived in the teacher's cottage while teaching. This is where the bride spent her earliest years as a daughter to ALL the teachers. When they say it takes a village, this was Trudy’s first village as a baby/toddler/preschool.
