Eric and Rhiannon met in the Stephen F. Austin State University Music Lobby, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Eric was beginning his Master's degree and Rhiannon was starting her Junior year of her Bachelor's Degree. They worked around one another but did not start dating until a whole year. One thing a few people don't know about how the two started talking- was actually a confrontation! A story the two would gladly share at the wedding! First Date-Eric and Rhiannon share a deep love for Baseball. Eric is an avid Houston Astros fan and Rhiannon is a life-long San Diego Padres fan. It is only fitting that the two shared their first big date at a Houston Astros baseball game. After graduating from SFA in 2017, Eric moved to Muncie, Indiana to complete a Doctoral Degree in Music and Rhiannon entered the workforce as a Band Director. For the next seven years the two of them worked to support each other as a couple while they perused their dreams. Traveling total: 19 Airplane round trips and 4 cross-country road trips. July 4th, 2024- Once Eric completed his Doctoral Degree, the couple drove across the country to move Eric back home to Texas. The two settled into their first place! February 13th, 2026- Eric proposed in a hotel room in San Antonio, Texas. The two of them were attending a Music Educators conference. After a long day of clinics, Rhiannon returned to their hotel room- only to find that it was a dim, tea-light candles scattered around and every surface covered with rose petals. When he asked her to marry him, she said: "A thousand times, yes."
