Eric and Narisara "Arty" met in 2016 while Eric was stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii with the Navy, and Arty, living in Honolulu, working as an Au Pair and studying at the University of Hawaii. On August 6th, coincidentally the same date as their future wedding, Arty's friends convinced her to go dancing at a Waikiki night club even though she was exhausted from working all day. Similarly that night, Eric's childhood friends from New Jersey, Adam and Chris, were in town and convinced Eric to take a night off from studying for his Aircraft Commander Examination and fist pump the work stress away. Eric noticed Arty dancing with her friends in the middle of the dance floor and ditched his friends to introduce himself, or as Arty recalls, "poked her on her shoulder." After some lighthearted chit chat, the couple exchanged numbers and agreed to go on a date later that week. Although born on opposite sides of the world, the couple quickly realized that they had a rare connection with very similar interests. Arty taught Eric about Thai culture and found the key to Eric's heart, her cooking. And the rest, as they say, is history.
