Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by August 17th to allow for accurate planning! Thanks so much.

Question

Newport Traffic + Travel!

Answer

We want to call out that, as mentioned, Newport is a very busy town! While it's best known for being liveliest in the summer months, there will be a few events happening around town that weekend, including the Bowen's Wharf Seafood festival and Salve Regina Alumni Weekend. To get to the venue, you will need to drive along Ocean Drive or via the Fort Adams route - please allow yourself some buffer time if you are driving to the venue, as Ocean Drive is known for tourists taking slower "joy rides" and Thames Street, a primary road downtown, is a one-way street. Similarly, if you plan on utilizing the transportation from the Newport Marriott please allow yourself some extra time to get there as it is located right downtown!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We would love to see everyone in black tie optional attire. Ladies, feel free to dress up in formal cocktail dresses or floor-length gowns. Gentlemen, tuxes with black neckties or bowties are preferred. We can't wait to see everyone shine!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited capacity for this event, please only bring those addressed in your invitation.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We will be hosting Welcome Drinks at Stoneacre Garden from 7:30-9pm the Thursday prior to the wedding. Feel free to stop in if you're in town early! We've listed a few spots to go for dinner prior and a few fun bars to hop around afterwards to kick off a fun weekend. The Saturday after the wedding, there are a ton of fun activities to take advantage of in Newport - book a Mansion tour, stop by the Bowen's Wharf Seafood festival or do some shopping! If anyone is looking for recommendations, we'd be happy to help!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your children, this will be an adults only event outside of immediate family who will be participating in the wedding! We encourage everyone to use this as a weekend getaway.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! You will be able to drive directly to OceanCliff and park on the grounds if you choose. We will also be organizing bus transportation that will pick guests up prior to the ceremony and bring guests back at the end of the night. This transportation will be departing from the Newport Marriott only. You are able to leave your vehicle at OceanCliff overnight if you decide to Uber home! ;) Newport is also fairly populated with rideshare options like Uber/Lyft. We recommend scheduling a ride pick up ahead of time to ensure there are drivers available.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please see our the Travel section for more on this. Newport this time of year, while not as busy as the summer months, is still lively. We recommend looking into accommodations as soon as you can to ensure you are able to find something that fits your preferences! As mentioned, Middletown, RI is just a few minutes outside of Newport and hosts multiple hotels that are more conscious of budget. Feel free to reach out directly to Morgan or Eric for any recommendations.
