It all started with a romantic garden proposal...
Eric and Megan met on a dating app right before Megan moved back to Dallas in February 2022. Since Megan wasn't living in Dallas yet, the two decided to FaceTime to get to know each other better. This first FaceTime call lasted 3 hours, and the bride-to-be remembers hanging up the phone and thinking "Wow. I just met the love of my life." The very night Megan moved into her new apartment (the same one Eric would later move into with her a year and a half later), Eric picked her up for their first date at Enchiladas, his family's favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. Megan thought Eric was some kind of celebrity by the way he was fist-bumping other customers, hugging the staff, and immediately getting seated at the best booth in the house. Turns out, Eric had been coming to this restaurant since he was born, and Megan was the very first girl he ever brought to Enchiladas. Not long after that first date, Eric asked Megan to be his girlfriend, Megan asked Eric to be a dog dad to their adorable shih tzu Mia, Eric asked Megan to accept his obsession with sports and hot wings, and Megan asked Eric to accept her obsession with Taylor Swift and binge-watching Netflix shows. In November 2023, Eric and Megan were visiting her family in San Antonio. Megan was out wedding dress shopping for her sister when their mom offered to show them where she took her bridal portraits. While walking around the gardens at the McNay Art Museum, Megan spotted Eric wearing a suit and holding a bouquet, with the song "Lover" playing faintly in the distance. Eric got down on one knee and asked Megan the question she had been looking forward to her whole life - "Will you marry me?"
