Two days before our trip to Japan to see the cherry blossoms, Eric took Mahri ring shopping, just to throw her off. What she didn’t know? He already had the ring and a full proposal plan in motion. The original plan was to propose in front of Mount Fuji…but when snow and clouds completely hid the view, we had to pivot. So, on our next stop in Hakone, we made our way to Lake Ashinoko to see the Torii Gate of Peace. Eric insisted we wait in a very long line for a photo (if you know Eric, you know this is very unlike him)! After an hour of waiting, making new friends, and even grabbing ice cream, it was finally our turn. We walked down to the edge of the dock together… and then Eric got down on one knee. Mahri said yes, and the rest is history! ✨
