Eric first saw me standing at the host stand at Red Robin, listening to Wanna Be A Baller (mama raised me right). I first saw him a year later at the same restaurant when he walked by me and tapped my hip, giving me a head nod that I thought was cooler than sliced bread. He began snap chatting me (romantic, I know) on June 9th, segued himself into texting right after, and on July 13th he did this awkward thing where he asked me to be his girlfriend half in his truck, half out. As if I could have ever said no. I went back to college that August and was sure that he wouldn’t stick it out, but if you know Eric, you know he is good and sure in all aspects of his life. Fast forward a few years, some long distance, Texas State, Steely, and we get to my favorite day. On July 26th, 2017, Eric picked me up. I knew it was coming, I just didn’t know when. We were heading towards Houston when he looks at me and says “after we go to the butterfly museum my mom wants us to come by the house so she can see the ring”. I look at him and he looks at me and let’s out a groan. But that’s how it goes with Eric. He’s an open book. There are no secrets, there are no words left unsaid. He is pure in everything and so when I spotted my sister hiding behind a plant, a camera in hand, I turned back to Eric and knew there was nothing else to say other than “yes”. As I write this we are almost done with long distance. The excitement is unreal, the love I feel for Eric continues to grow. I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with him. This is only a portion of the “story of us”. If you know me you know I’ll never not tell you something you want to know (girl loves to talk). As a lover of books and writing and words, my favorite to tell will always be ours. Welcome to our wedding page, I hope it brings you even a fraction of the happiness it brings me. And Eric, when you read this, know that nothing in the world will ever excite me as much as you.
