What the hell is a "Jam Handy?"

Answer

The Jam Handy used to be home to the Jam Handy Organization (JHO), a film production studio established in the 1920s by Olympic Swimmer Jamison Handy. JHO made the first animated version of Rudolph, produced educational videos for GM, and shot training films for the military during WWII. Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is a parking lot directly next to the church for the ceremony and valet parking will be available at the reception.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest," then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you. We can only accommodate folks who are formally invited on the invitation.

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your little ones! But our wedding will be an "adults only" affair (VIP Edward Linus not included).

What do I do if I cannot make it?

Answer

You will be missed! Please indicate this on your RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

What is the weather like?

Answer

Who knows what Michigan weather will do, but the average temperature around April 29 in Detroit is 60 degrees during the day and cooler at night.

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. We ask that all phones and devices be put away and on silent during the ceremony. We have hired a professional photographer to capture this special day. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like. We'll share our pictures if you share yours! Feel free to send any goodies to Lauren at 510-761-2360.

No. Please arrange transportation to and from both locations.
