We first met due to mutual friends who were dating at the time (shout out to the Tripodo's) and had invited us to pub night Triva at the Royal Falconer in Redlands. We were friendly, but that was it. To be fair, Laura was weird and Eric hadn't yet realized he needed to be nice to people and was put into Laura's phone as Eric-Trivia Jerkface. So that tells you how that went. Unfortunately, someone at trivia thought that we would make a cute couple and it became a thing for the others to joke about. Laura and Eric were equally Not Amused. Fast forward four years, Eric had grown as a person and one day texted Laura to see if she had seen the new Jurassic Park movie. To this day he still says it wasn't a date. Laura says it was. After about a month or so they decided to actually give it a real try and realized that they didn't know when the decision was made and came up with an anniversary date that was close enough. On August 13, 2024 they will have been together for 6 years. On December 29, 2023 Eric took Laura on a hike in Torrey Pines and (finally) asked her to marry him. She of course said yes, and the rest is history.
