Where is the wedding?

We are having a destination wedding in Guanacaste, Carrillo, Costa Rica! The resort is The Riu Palace Costa Rica

What is the closest airport to the resort?

Answer

The Riu Palace Costa Rica is located 20.5 miles (approximately 40 minutes) from the Liberia International Airport (LIR). Please note if you are flying into San Jose the bridge (Friendship) from the airport to the resort is closed for three months. You will need to take Highway 1 which will add a couple hours to the drive to the resort.

Is there a room block?

Answer

We are not blocking rooms through the hotel, but are working with a travel agent. By using the form in the “travel” section you can request a custom quote and book your travel through the agent.

Does the resort provide a shuttle?

Answer

If you book directly on the Riu website, you can book roundtrip transfer service at the time of your booking. If using the travel agent transfer service will be quoted when the form is completed.

What dates should I travel?

Answer

The wedding is June 26th, we will arrive on Sunday, June 23rd and depart on Friday, June 28th. You are welcome to arrive and depart at your leisure.

Can I stay at a different resort and still attend the wedding?

Answer

Yes, if you do not stay at the host resort there is a $100 fee to access the property for the wedding ceremony/reception.
