Our Story

We first met in 2017 at a city sports league skeeball game at Mother’s Federal Hill Grille. Eric had been recruited as a substitute by a friend whose teammate couldn’t make it, which is how he ended up meeting the team, including Kelly. We chatted briefly, went our separate ways, and assumed that would be the end of it. Almost a year later, we ran into each other again and instantly remembered one another. The sparks ignited…apparently skeeball introductions have surprisingly good success rates. What started as recurring run-ins through our shared social circle and kickball games (thank you, Smaltimore), it quickly turned into something more. Between trying new restaurants, exploring city life, and finding plenty of excuses to spend more time together, we realized we had stumbled onto something worth holding onto. Over the years, our lives—and addresses—kept getting closer together. From living down the street, to neighbors three doors down, to eventually moving in together and starting a new chapter in the suburbs, we discovered that life really is better together. Along the way we built a life full of adventures, laughter, and lots of great food. We celebrated milestones like becoming Aunt and Uncle, building a new home together, and traveling near and far while collecting lasting memories. In 2024, we checked a bucket-list destination off our list with a trip to Iceland. By that point, Kelly had already planned how Eric should propose during the trip. Naturally, Eric refused to follow the script to keep her guessing. After days of exploring some of the most beautiful natural wonders including rainbows over waterfalls, lagoons, geysirs, glaciers, and of course trying new local cuisine, Eric got down on one knee and proposed to Kelly on the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, as waves crashed against the dramatic black shore and hundreds of puffins fluttered above. Kelly said yes, and “brought some ice back from Iceland.” After almost eight amazing years together, we’re so excited to celebrate our wedding with the people we love most and can’t wait to begin our next chapter together.
