Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Consistently ranked in the top two zoo's in the nation! As animal lovers, the Cincinnati Zoo is a favourite date day of ours. Eric particularly loves the red pandas and river otters, while Katie's favourites are the vampire bats and the blue duikers.
Skyline Chili
The superior Cincinnati style Chili parlor. A local chain and a pillar of Cincinnati culture. Many locations around the city but the Kenwood and Oakley locations are two of our frequent haunts. If you're embarking on your maiden Skyline voyage, Katie recommends a small 3-way and a cheese coney (up to you on mustard and onions, but she gets her's all the way). Don't forget to cut the spaghetti (not twirl). And think of it as a meat sauce, not a chili.
Graeter's Ice Cream
Another signature Cincinnati establishment (and more widely enjoyed by out-of-towners than Skyline). All of their "chip" flavors are made french pot style which leads to some massive hunks of chocolate in the ice cream. Katie's favourite is the Black Raspberry Chip and Eric's is Mint Chip.

A grocery store on the things to do list? Jungle Jim's is not your average grocery store - a staple of the infamous canoe-camping weekends, Jungle Jim's has aisles for almost every country/region you can name. From bizarre meats to treats you enjoyed while on vacation abroad, Jungle Jim's can entertain you for several hours if you wish. Hit “view” for an educational video.
