FAQs

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico?

Answer

No passport required if you’re a U.S. citizen—flights to Puerto Rico are treated just like any other domestic trip. Simply bring a Real ID–compliant driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID. Non-U.S. citizens: travel with the passport (and any U.S. visa or ESTA) you’d use for entry into the mainland United States.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For the ceremony and reception, beach formal—think linen or lightweight suits and breezy dresses to help keep cool in the heat! Formality: For "beach formal," lighter colors are great, but a darker shade (like navy) elevates it for evening. Top Color Choices: Navy Blue: An excellent, classic choice for evening beach weddings, offering formality while complementing the ocean setting. Light Gray/Charcoal: Versatile and sophisticated, good for more formal beach affairs and photographs well as it gets darker. Tan/Khaki: Quintessential beach colors that are light, keep you cool, and look great in coastal settings, perfect for a relaxed yet stylish look. Dusty/Light Blue: Captures the sky and water, offering romantic, relaxed elegance suitable for coastal events. Colors to Avoid: We kindly ask guests to refrain from wearing white or off-white colors, such as beige or cream. Fabrics & Style Tips: Fabrics: Choose linen, lightweight wool blends, or seersucker for breathability and comfort in the heat. Accessories: Pair with a crisp white or pastel shirt, loafers or dress shoes, and simple accessories for a refined finish. For the welcome party, resort casual—linen garments, dresses, jumpsuits, polos, short-sleeve button ups, bright/nautical colors, etc. The ceremony and reception are planned to be outdoors (but not on the beach), with an indoor backup in case of bad weather.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

5:00pm on 1/17/25. Please note that due to the San Sebastián Street Festival, transportation options such as Uber may experience delays. We kindly ask that you plan accordingly.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We won’t be running a shuttle, but no worries—many of our recommended hotels are just a short stroll (5–10 minutes) from the ceremony site. If you’d rather ride, local taxis and rideshares are plentiful. Choose whatever’s easiest and we’ll see you there!

Question

What’s the best way to get around the island (rideshare, taxi, rental car)?

Answer

Uber and licensed taxis work great in San Juan and for airport runs, but if you’re hoping to explore beaches, El Yunque, or other towns, book a rental car well in advance—or join a guided day tour that handles the driving for you. Highways are well-signed, though many are cashless toll roads, so add a toll pass to your rental or keep a contactless card handy.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we adore children, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. Hope you can still make a night of it with us!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We’ll start the celebration with a relaxed Welcome Party the night before—come for sunset drinks, light bites, and a chance to mingle before the big day. Sunday will be yours to enjoy! Explore the island’s beaches, trails, and villages at your own pace, and check out the “Things to Do” section for our favorite recommendations and hidden gems.

Question

Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options?

Answer

Absolutely! Our buffet will feature clearly labeled vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes, so everyone can enjoy the meal stress-free. If you have any additional dietary needs, just let us know in advance and we’ll be happy to accommodate.

Question

Do you have a gift registry or preferred gifts?

Answer

Your presence truly is the best gift we could receive—everything else is optional. If you’d still like to give, we’ve put together a few ideas on our Registry page. Feel free to browse, but please don’t feel obligated.

Question

Is there a hotel block we can book from?

Answer

We won't be reserving a hotel block. However, there are many hotels and Airbnbs around Fairmont! A few hotels we recommend include: Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort, La Concha Resort and of course Fairmont El San Juan Hotel (our venue). Just a heads-up: Monday, January 19th is a national holiday, in case you’d like to extend your trip.

Question

How do I share photos from the night of the wedding?

Answer

Please use this website and upload it here: https://weduploader.com/upload/ztAdJaRMt5Bf6xaE
