How we first met (an online dating app) is not exciting, but how we started to fall in love is! After their second date, Janessa happened to mention to Eric that she was about to move, and he volunteered to help. Janessa initially said “no” – she knew moving was stressful and messy and didn’t want Eric to see that side of her yet. However, the need for helpers was strong and Janessa eventually gave in. The day of the move Eric arrived early and immediately put himself to work. He quickly loaded furniture into the trailer attached to Janessa’s Subaru and made sure it was all secure. A good thing he did too as catastrophe was just around the corner (literally)! Unbeknownst to Janessa, Eric, and the other helpers, a pin was accidently forgotten to be used to secure the trailer hitch. In the middle of an intersection the trailer detached itself! Luckily the back up chains did their job and kept the trailer from being stranded. Janessa quickly pulled over. Her adrenaline was pumping and she couldn’t think what happened let alone what to do next. Eric jumped out of the car to inspect the trailer. He immediately realized the problem and instantly had his phone out in search of stores to find a replacement hitch pin. The pin was found, properly placed, and the day was saved. Months later Janessa and Eric relived this day and discovered it was the day they both realized how special the other was. Obviously, Janessa immediately swooned over Eric’s heroic actions and how supportive and useful he was. Eric was impressed by Janessa’s ability to handle stress and maintain being positive. Needless to say these opinions of each other only grew… into love!
