We met when we were both freshman at LSU in Baton Rouge. Met at a well-known bar in Tigerland celebrating a friend's birthday. (Pitchers of Long Island Iced Tea, anyone?) We like to say we would've met regardless as our roommates were dating at the time.

We drove for a day trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast after picking up a cheese plate at St. James to bring with us. We sat on the beach for a few hours. Just before leaving Eric kneeled in the sand and asked me to marry him. A little bit of a surprise since we were still in the middle of the pandemic!
