As for those who do not know, I worked at Buffalo Wild Wings for 5 years of my life in which I also got introduced to Eric by one of my regulars who so happened to be his cousin. It all started as a waitress/regular relationship (you know, where you come in enough that I no longer have to ask "what can I get you to drink"). Thus becoming into a friendship that later turned into a "can I have your number" (to which I'll leave the specifics out). Following the exchange of text messages & phone calls.. was our first date. Before our first date, Eric asked what my favorite type of food was. - which ironically I replied with "wings". Pluckers was our destination that night and still continues to be our go-to place. Ever since then... our love for wings and each other has blossomed into the greatest love story.
Early on in our relationship I knew she was “the one.” There wasn’t any specific moment or sudden clarity like there is in the movies. I just knew life was better with her by my side and I wanted her to know that I always want to be by hers. The Plan I knew this was going to be one of the more important memories in our lives, so I realized that our families and friends had to be there. It was the summer of 2018 and I began to set things into motion. First, I reached out to her friends to help me pick out the perfect ring. I had an idea, but I didn’t want to leave anything to chance and they definitely came through. Second, I had to organize our families and friends to meet us in Austin (a place that’s special to both of us and help catch her off guard.) Lastly, I wanted it to be a surprise! This turned out to be the trickiest part. I suggested that we take a trip to Austin to celebrate her birthday. She wanted to invite our friends and make a weekend out of it. Of course, I agreed, and we reached out to our friends. When they accepted our invite, I reached back out to everyone to fill them in. Afterwards, I suggested to a few of them that they “cancel” on us to honestly catch her with her guard completely down. After being a little down when our friends “canceled” on us, made our way to one of our favorite cities. Told her to get dressed up because I wanted to take her to a special dinner. Once we dodged a few unforeseen bullets, we made our way to one of our favorite restaurants. When we walked in our families and friends who had been eagerly awaiting our arrival gave her the fantastic surprise I’d hoped for her. And when she turned around towards me on one knee with her ring I knew it had all been worth it.
