Eric and Emily had met in Denver, Colorado, in the Spring of 2023 while they were both on travel nursing contracts at the same hospital. Although they did not work on the same floor, they were introduced through their mutual connection Kiersten Lingo, Emily’s roommate and travel nursing buddy. After a few occasions hanging out in a group setting, something clicked at the local comedy show. They spent the entire evening talking and laughing with one another, and they just knew there was meant to be more. They continued to explore their connection for the short time they had together in Denver before Eric’s contract would finish by the end of May. Although Eric’s time in Denver would have ended and Emily had another month of time left, Eric made a promise to Emily that he would come back to visit her in between his prior engagements in Richmond and Chicago. True to his promise, Eric flew back to Denver on two separate occasions in June 2023. During the first of these two trips, Eric had officially asked Emily to be his girlfriend on June 2nd. A plan was formulated as Emily’s travel contract came to an end in Denver, she had prior plans to move to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be with her sister Lindsey. They planned together for Eric to also travel to Charlotte on contract so they could continue to spend time with one another and grow their relationship. The rest was history!
