One of our favorite breweries in town. The vibe is laid back and the staff are really nice. Good for families and dogs, this is that "community center" type of brewery.
With three locations, this french style cafe is a great little spot for a small little snack, and a coffee or other delicious beverage. Amelies is a favorite among locals and lots of folks from out of make sure to visit an Amelie's every time they come back to Charlotte.
You'll see Orange, Green, Grey and every other color bike while you're in town. Most of them are for rent at around $1 per half hour. Just get the app for whichever brand bike you're looking at, scan the QR code in their app and then ride! Charlotte is a surprisingly easy place to bike (Eric mentions it's even easier than Durham, though not quite as easy as Salisbury) so try it out and enjoy our pretty little city!
If you're staying uptown and with a group that is having a hard time agreeing on a place to eat, 7th Street Market is basically an updated/upscale food court with other cool little shops.
Free kids museum. It's pretty cool!
If you're looking for a laid back place with a yummy veggie burger, check out Diamond in our neighborhood of Plaza Midwood. Legion Brewing is right across the street.
Some really cool shows come through here!
We love biking down the greenway. Restaurants in the "South End" neighborhood are a couple miles south of uptown and make a nice morning excursion.
MaeBeth and Eric went here on one of their first dates in Charlotte. If you like weird dive bars, you'll love the Thirsty Beaver.
The older of our two really close by neighborhood breweries, we like this spot for their diverse beer menu. The food is alright too.
This brand new brewery in Plaza Midwood (MaeBeth & Eric's home base) is really good. One of Charlottes's 5,226 microbreweries.
There's lots of restaurants, breweries, bars and more in this quirky little neighborhood where MaeBeth and Eric live. Bike on over, check it out and wander around.
Salisbury NC has been Eric's home for the past few years and is full of little nooks and crannies. This cute town is NC's second oldest city. It's home to hundreds of houses from 1920 and before. New Sarum Brewing and Morgan Ridge Railwalk Brewery/Eatery are great stops, especially if you're taking the Amtrak up and back from Charlotte.
Another brewery on Charlotte's list of about 5,104. Right next to the Rose Garden this one has some really solid beer and tends to be a little quieter than some of the other breweries because it's between neighborhoods.
